Also check which MIDI channel is used for keys and wheels, it should be the same (I guess default is "1" for all). If still no luck (and you have not assigned Modulation wheel in Control Surface plug-in.), open Alesis editor and check what the wheel is sending. "Controller" and "Pitch Wheel" should be "checked. If they do not, check Sonar Preferences / MIDI / Playback and Recording / Record section. I have not seen templates/instructions for this controller. Thanks in advance for any help!!! Or do you know of a very simple/basic step-by-step instruction on how to set this controller up in SONAR? And witg "simple instruction" I mean, something suitable for really very stupid people like me when it comes to these things. I apologize for my ignorance, but I really am totally confused and don't know where to start. So, I know that most people here are very advanced and experienced and maybe it's unusual to ask such a seemingly stupid and basic question as I am doing right now. And yes, there is a control software from Alesis that I have installed and opened but I really don't understand it. I don't even know what to use as MIDI output (only devices to choose from are MS generic MIDI synth and the Input of the Alesis Keyboard, which does not produce any sounds). I tried to dive into setting up a control surface in SONAR but I have to admit that I am totally lost. Only thing that is working is the keyboard (I can play notes) and the sustain pedal. Or how to change volume/velocity or how to even use the the wheel controllers for modulation and pitch. For example: I would love to know how to do something as simple as change a MIDI channel or an instrument patch from within the keyboard. However - I am totally lost when it comes to configuring all those knobs and buttons of the MIDI keyboard controller. The MIDI keyboard is working fine, I can play sounds from within Sonar.
